Mex Cantina Bona Fide

A great place for sharing platters and margaritas. We chose the chicken fajitas and (they’re priced for sharing) There was plenty to fill 4 tortilla’s each however the meat to bean ratio could’ve been a little more meat heavy. Their menus are labelled with gluten free options and When I asked for the gluten free version they did bring me 4 tortillas and no extra charge however, if I was to go again I would ask for the non-gluten wraps to also be added to a separate plate to avoid cross contamination as I couldn’t enjoy the chips.

Everything was absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend the gluten free enchiladas. The chips we ordered with the chips and guacamole were a tad stale, but still enjoyable. Absolutely wonderful service and delicious food!

If you’re sick of pizza and pasta, come to Mex Cantina and they can cook up some mean Mexican food. I had an espresso martini and a strawberry mojito to drink. Both were passable, but you come here for the food: The tortilla chips are - fine. The guacamole however is fresh and well seasoned with just the right amount of lemony zing. Then I had the chicken burrito. Very generous with the filling of chicken (I.e it’s not all rice and beans) Cheesey sauces goodness. It’s also well presented, but does force you to use knives and forks. The restaurant is expensive, but I suppose one must pay the tourist tax to have dinner within the ancient walls of Dubrovnik. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, particularly to those who have allergies, as they can handle most things.

Definitely recommend this place, whether it is for breakfast or dinner. The Service is great, the waiters are very friendly and the location is just beautiful, especially when it gets a little dark and all lights go on. The food was also really good, not necessarily "out of this world good", but tasty, comforting Mexican food. Most restaurants we've been to in Croatia you feel like you are searching for the one vegetarian option on the menu, where as this restaurant is one of the only restaurants in Croatia (at least in the cities we've been to) that has many veg options to choose from.

We visited Dubrovnik and decided to have a quick lunch here as wanted something uncomplicated. The overall atmosphere of the place is ok, the location is decorated in Mexican style as the name suggests. The lunch options they had were decent. Overall the level of prices was very high. But it is everywhere like this in the old town. Their lemonades are very nice, can fully recommend.

Nice comforting Mexican food, with big servings, in a great location with friendly and attentive waitstaff. Expensive overall but not out of line with other restaurants in the old town.

Loved this place! Amazingly friendly and fast service, lovely outdoor seating and super tasty food. The Nachos were the best we have ever tasted - could not get enough of them. The tacos were also fantastic. Highly recommend!
